ADIN seeks to strengthen nautical tourism and charters
The Association of Nautical Industries (ADIN) has reached an agreement with business people of the sector dedicated to charters (hire of sports vessels with and without crew) in order to create a framework for working together, through which to promote this sector and nautical tourism in Catalunya in general.
According to the agreement, it has been established that those companies dedicated to charters who join ADIN will have a representative on their board of directors as well as territorial delegates in the capitals of coastline Catalan provinces (Girona, Barcelona and Tarragona). This agreement seeks cohesion in a traditionally disperse sector, with the objective that, in the medium term, the charter companies may have their own association with sufficient weight to represent them and fight for their interests. Similarly, it is anticipated that said association of companies will take over the technical secretariat of ADIN.
This agreement was reached after a meeting held at the beginning of 2010 in Barcelona, in which the principal problems of the sector were discussed and the need for promotion and support on the part of the administration.
