As a general rule, insurance policies for vessels are formalised and renewed for annual periods. The procedure to follow as the renewal date draws near is the following:

1. Contact the insurance broker or consultant with whom you formalised the policy. It is advisable to do so at least 30 days before the expiry date of the policy.

2. Your consultant will indicate to you the potential improvements of the product which you may subscribe to, or any other products that may have appeared during the year and may be more competitive, and/ or better suited to your needs.

3. The consultant will send you by email or fax the various proposals, and will await your confirmation.

4. In the event that you are not interested in renewal, your consultant will process the annulment with the insurance company. As well as request the return of the premium, where applicable.
